This actually happened. I strapped a 7-foot tree to the top of a minivan and drove it home on Sunday. It’s about to get all Griswold up in here. How was your weekend?

We secured ours this weekend as well. It’s a nice yearly tradition, but I always have to talk myself into getting off the couch and actually doing it.

Judging by my Instagram stream, this was a *very* popular weekend for tree trimming. Something about carting this 7-footer home on a minivan made it all too real.

Thanks Sherri! Our friends own the lot and cut us a deal on what turned out to be a huge (and heavy) tree.

I threw mine in the back of the Subaru! and then got it home and started to string lights only to realize that half the strand was burned out in some inconceivable way. And you know how I am with light bulbs. BUT. The tree is lovely if only half-lit, and Ezra loved the hanging of things. So I’m going with it!

90% of this holiday is for the kids, so I concede. I have to stay strong or Amy will have us with two trees.
